In addition to being the world’s greatest virtuoso pianist, Franz Liszt was also a highly generous and supportive man to those he admired. One such composer was Franz Schubert, and Liszt composed medleys Schubert’s original waltzes, Hungarian melodies, marches, and more. Muzio Clementi was a man of many talents: a composer, virtuoso pianist, pedagogue, conductor, music publisher, editor, and piano manufacturer. One of the few to engage in a piano duel with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and live to tell the tale, he specialized in piano music being a particularly prolific composer.
